Community Health Centres (CHCs)
Non-profit clinics offering primary care, counselling, dietitians and more — often free, and they do not always require a health card. They go by different names by province, including CLSCs in Quebec.
University & college teaching clinics
Physiotherapy, chiropractic, dental hygiene, psychology and speech clinics run by training programs offer supervised care at low cost.
Publicly funded short-term therapy
Most provinces fund brief therapy for anxiety and depression, often with self-referral. In Ontario it is Ontario Structured Psychotherapy; elsewhere search your province’s name with "publicly funded psychotherapy".
